Rajeev Kapur, Greenwala, Inc.
Rajeev Kapur is a passionate, inclusive leader and accomplished change agent who orchestrates transformations in start-up, turnaround and high-growth businesses. He accomplishes this by recruiting and inspiring high-performing multinational teams, and creates a climate that liberates both individual and collective talents. He left a successful position as President of SmartLabs Inc., to follow his passion to teach and encourage the average person to become green. He conceived Greenwala in early 2008 as a vehicle to counteract the negativity that surrounds environmental issues. Kapur then rallied the support of seasoned entrepreneurs and attracted a core group of co-founders to start-up the company in April of 2008.
As President of SmartLabs, a leading electronic home automation company, Kapur was recruited to build strategic sales and marketing capability. During his tenure, Kapur successfully championed and led major corporate restructuring and built SmartLabs into one of OC Metro’s Top 10 Best Places to Work in Orange County.
As General Manager of Dell South Asia, Kapur maintained full operating, financial, strategic and P&L responsibility for $400 million computer systems business across the region, including Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, India, Thailand, all Southeast Asia countries. He delivered strategies and tactics that increased annual revenues by 24 percent and operating income by 71 percent. Kapur is credited with developing and implementing a comprehensive Regional Business Plan that set clear business direction, identified growth opportunities and spending priorities, and integrated annual operating plans with Dell’s global vision. He also served as Director of Sales and Marketing for Dell in China from 2000-2002 where he was responsible for implementing the company’s direct-to-market business model.
Kapur contributes his time to the community, as a member of the Young Presidents Organization, appointee to the City of Irvine Green Ribbon Environmental Committee and is currently on the board of the non-profit Project Tomorrow.
